Artist of the Week: けけ(ヶ´∀`) (Keke)

This guy showed up on the J-music scene earlier this year, and currently only has one single out (DARUMAROMAN) but it's a hard one to get out of your head. This "kawaii" image he's putting on has to do with him wanting to display 'playfulness' and 'youthfulness', rather than trying to look like a girl. It also fits the music like a glove, DARUMAROMAN is a very happy, upbeat single.

His talking voice is quite low for a Japanese guy, but he manages the "kawaii" voice very well while singing. His looks and general image as an artist are based on Anime, but he admits to listening to bands like Luna Sea as well for inspiration. He was right there when the Visual Kei movement began gaining popularity worldwide, and this motivated him to start making his own music.

Since this is such a recent artist, not a whole lot more can be said about him yet, except that if you're into happy progressive (sometimes heavy) rock music, this is your cup of tea!

Official website (completely in Japanese, so I apologize if I made a mistake in his biography..)

There is no official PV for "DARUMAROMAN" out, so I chose a random video from Youtube:
