Band of the Week: Tokami

Formed in late 2008, the 4 members have released 2 full albums and twice as much mini-albums, since 2011 under the Starwave Records label. The current members are K on guitar, 1000 on drumms, Ichika on bass and Agato on the microphone. Now, while not a lot is disclosed about them on their official website, their Myspace page dates back all the way to 2008 and provides some more information.

Their music is pure heavy metal in a Japanese coat, reminding one of bands like Dir en Grey. However, this wasn't always the case. "The Under of Garden" (2009) is quite melodic and dramatic, bringing Moi dix Mois and Malice Mizer to mind.

By signing up with Starwave Records, they're taking a big step into the Japanese heavy rock/metal scene, performing in Ikebukuro Edge on Jan 30th 2013..
