Band of the Week: Gyze

Gyze is yet to release their first album, but they've been around since 2009, under a different name.

They started out as SUICIDE HEAVEN, operating first from Hokkaido and later from Tokyo. They've not changed their lineup, simply their name, with Ryoji on guitar/vocals, Shogo on bass/vocals and Shuji on drumms.

As SUICIDE HEAVEN, they mainly performed as opening acts for other bands such as SPINALCORD and CYCLE. After changing their name to Gyze in 2011, they continued playing opening acts for a while, until they earned a spot in the METAL BATTLE JAPAN finals.

Shortly after that they started doing their own shows, and are working hard towards their goal of being a proper, standalone band. Their first release is due this year, under the "Coroner Records" label, so hopefully it will live up to both their and their fans' expectations.
